FOUNDATION ROUTE
Temporary Traffic Management Basic Course
NHSS12 TTMBC introduces learners to temporary traffic management and allows trainees to work on the highway network under a qualified operative or supervisor.
- Duration: 1/2 day training
- Assessment: No assessment required
- Prerequisites: None
- Recognised by National Highways, Transport Scotland, Welsh Assembly and Transport NI
OPERATIVE ROUTE
12D T1/T2 Course / M1/M2 Assessment
Training for temporary traffic management on single carriageway urban and rural roads, supporting learners working towards M1/M2 Registered Traffic Management Operative status.
- T1 duration: 1/2 day course
- T2 duration: 1/2 day course
- Refresher: test duration only
- Prerequisite: Valid TTMBC skill for new entrants
SPECIALIST MODULE
12D T5 Training / M5 Assessment
NHSS 12D Multi Phase Traffic Signals training for RTMOs who want to add this category to their 12D card.
- Duration: 1/2 day training
- Focus: Multi-phase traffic signals
- Prerequisite: Completed NHSS 12D T1/T2
- Recognition: Rural and urban road networks
PROGRESSION
A clear route from trainee to specialist operative.
- Start with TTMBC to build foundation knowledge.
- Move into 12D T1/T2 to work toward RTMO status.
- Add T5/M5 for multi-phase traffic signal capability.
